YouTube Testing Multi-Angle Feature for its Videos
YouTube wants to give you a new point of view.
The Google-owned video sharing site is testing a new feature that will enable content creators to upload videos from different camera angles. User will then be able to choose the angle they wish to view the video from.
Indie artist Madilyn Bailey is the first content creator to test out the new tool. Bailey’s YouTube channel features a performance from a YouTube Music Night which the engineers at the social network have turned into a multi-angle video.
To view Bailey’s video from different angles, you can access the tool under the ‘Choose Your View’ tab on her channel.
Check it out here:
“You can view my YouTube Music Night performance from multiple angles,” reads a post on Bailey’s channel. “Just click on a video thumbnail anytime during playback to switch to that camera view. The left and right keyboard arrows (or numbers 1 to 4) can also be used to switch views. Try holding down the key before releasing for a smoother switch.”
There is no word on how long the test phase will last or when the tool will be implemented across the site. YouTube does, however, have a sign up form for U.S. content creators interested in testing out the new feature on their channels. Sign up here to learn more about the process.
