Entourage’s 10 Best Celebrity Cameos, From Kanye West to Martin Scorsese
Just in time for a mid-summer TV binge, the complete series of Entourage is available on Amazon Prime starting July 30. That’s right: all 96 episodes of the HBO hit are available to stream for your viewing pleasure.
That means you can relive the antics of Hollywood star on the rise Vinny Chase (Adrian Grenier) and his crew (played by Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Jeremy Piven as the love-to-hate-him agent Ari Gold) at your leisure.
Did the 2015 movie get you excited for a re-watch but overwhelmed at the sheer amount of televised Los Angeles debauchery at your fingertips? Here's a list of the 10 best celebrity cameos over the course of the series, from Kanye West to Martin Scorsese.
“Lose Yourself“ (Season 7, episode 10)
Entourage was able to lure even the most reclusive celebrity into a cameo. Exhibit A: Eminem, who played himself in the smartly titled “Lose Yourself” (the same title as one of Eminem’s songs), comes across Chase and Johnny Drama at a private party. An inebriated Chase accosts the rapper, who then lashes back at him with a punch.
“Fore!” (Season 6, episode 5)
Yes, Tom Brady – Super Bowl champ, the man married to Gisele Bundchen and currently dealing with Deflate Gate – played himself on the show. A surprisingly funny Brady does a good job playing golf with the guys for the episode. If the football thing doesn’t work out, there’s always acting.
“Neighbors” (Season 5, episode 2) “No More Drama” (Season 6, episode 7), “Buzzed” (Season 7, episode 2), “Bottoms Up” (Season 7, episode 5)
Bob Saget is, of course, known and beloved for his role as Danny Tanner on Full House. His stand-up comedy has always been on the raunchier side and his cameos on Entourage helped shed that squeaky-clean image. It became less of a cameo as he went on to appear in several episodes, but he didn’t hold back; he first appeared on the show a weed-loving, sex-addicted version of himself who went on to be a menace to the guys.
"No Cannes Do" (Season 4, episode 11)
Chase and the guys run into Kanye West at an airport and attempt to get him to fly them to Cannes on his private plane. A pre-Kardashian West helps them out, letting them onboard the plane, even offering free massages. See? Yeezy can be a sweetie.
"Give A Little Bit" (Season 6, episode 12)
If anyone is willing to go there and make fun of themselves, it’s Matt Damon. In his Entourage turn, Damon is trying to gather donations for his charity and Chase is taking his time coughing up his pledge. Damon starts to antagonize the guys by going full-Jason Bourne — following them, calling them, and hunting them down — in order to make sure he gets his money. It ends with a big breakdown — tears and all — from Damon (“I can’t believe I have an Academy Award and I’m calling YOU back!”).
"Running On E" (Season 6, episode 4)
David Schwimmer is tired of getting typecast as his Friends character Ross Geller and is in need of a career shake-up. He’s not sure what he wants to do next, and if it’s going to be another series, it has to be fresh. Unfortunately, he keeps getting pitched sitcoms and is over it, needing Ari Gold to help him out.
"One Car, Two Car, Red Car, Blue Car" (Season 6, episode 3)
In a brief but memorable moment, 50 Cent sees Turtle at a stoplight, Vinny's bro-turned-driver freaks out over the rapper. Fiddy makes fun of Turtle for driving “his daddy's car” (it was a gift from Vince) and drives off snickering, proving that 50 Cent can throw shade with the best of them.
"New York" (Season 1, episode 8)
Entourage was great at letting celebrities make fun of themselves or play exaggerated versions of their personas. Take Larry David’s cameo in the first season: The Curb Your Enthusiasm star is upset with Ari for taking Vin Diesel to a basketball game instead of him. Faux-David is distraught, giving a full-on rant before Johnny Drama asks him to guest star on Curb. Now there’s a crossover, HBO!
M. Night Shyamalan
"Sorry, Harvey" (Season 4, episode 4)
Once again, Entourage was able to bring out the fun in those you’d never expect. The Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan meets with Ari in a cemetery (where he’s directing an Amex commercial, of course) to give him an updated copy of his screenplay. “Are you going to put yourself in this one?” Ari asks, referencing the director’s cameos in his movies.
"Return To Queens Blvd" (Season 5, episode 12)
Without getting into spoiler territory, famed director Martin Scorsese plays himself and offers Chase a role in his adaptation of The Great Gatsby. You’ll have to watch to see if it happens, but it’s another great cameo in an endless list of gets for the series.
